What are Gel Balls?
Gel Balls (also called gel blaster ammo, gel beads, or hydration gels) are small, water-absorbent polymer spheres used as ammunition for gel blasters. They start as tiny dry pellets and expand dramatically in size when soaked in water.
Once hydrated, gel balls become soft, squishy, and lightweight, making them safe for recreational shooting when used responsibly. They burst on impact, reducing mess and making clean-up easy.
Key Features
Water-Hydrated Polymer
Made from super-absorbent, non-toxic polymer that grows when soaked in water.
Safe, Soft Impact
Designed to break apart on contact, making them safer than traditional BBs.
Eco-Friendly
Biodegradable and evaporate over time when exposed to the sun.
Low Mess
When they burst, the fragments dry out and disappear naturally.
Compatible Ammunition
Work with most gel blasters, pistols, rifles, and hoppers that accept standard-sized gel balls (typically 7–8mm when fully grown).
How to Use
- Place the dry beads in clean water.
- Allow 3–4 hours for full hydration (size increases to 7–8mm).
- Drain excess water.
- Load into your gel blaster.
For best performance, always use fully grown and freshly hydrated gel balls.
Common Types
- Standard 7–8mm Gel Balls – Most common size.
- Milky / Hardened Gel Balls – More consistent size and durability.
- Coloured Gel Balls – Red, blue, green, etc., for visibility or team play.
